Based in an iconic public house and warehouse in Shoreditch, Renaissance London has built a unique reputation as a dealer, restorer and specialist in antique fireplaces, with a particular passion for Georgian and Victorian marble and stone pieces.
We sell antique fireplace surrounds, antique marble fireplaces and stone fireplaces, with a particular emphasis on quality, proportion and period detail. Our bespoke and reproduction fireplaces are made at Renaissance using carefully selected marbles and traditional methods developed from Georgian and Victorian practice.
Each piece is handmade and finished to the highest standards. Where we are reproducing or matching an existing fireplace, we work from high-definition photographs and moulds to make sure the details, dimensions and proportions are right. The interiors and soffits are structurally reinforced, with the individual elements held together using copper wire clamps in the traditional manner.
Passion for fireplaces
Our collection gives an indication of the architecturally correct chimney-pieces we work with, but much of our work in this field involves making copies or pairs to match existing examples. We also create individually designed fireplaces inspired by genuine antique originals.
Without doubt, our passion is fireplaces – there isn’t much we don’t know about them. Our stock is carefully sourced from across Europe, with pieces dating from the 16th century to the present day and ranging from Queen Anne and Georgian to Victorian designs.
Our City Road showroom in Shoreditch brings together a fine collection of antique fireplaces alongside mirrors, chandeliers, vintage and Murano lighting, sculptures and eclectic architectural and salvaged pieces.
Renaissance London also accepts commissions for bespoke and reproduction fireplaces and provides a complete fireplace restoration and fitting service. We specialise in marble and stone fireplaces, antique stone mantels, Murano chandeliers and vintage lighting.
